Jul 11, 2021 · As far as having issues with the new recoil spring, I believe that was only on the 9mm's, and they have more than resolved that by now. It was a Glock 19 that I just traded in for the 23, and I had no issues whatsoever with the recoil spring on that. the gen 4 recoil spring, to me, made a very noticeable difference on the 23.

Nov 2, 2010 · Congrats on the G23, you made a good choice. For practice, I concur with the above quote from cadillacguns. I have tried the cheap wolf ammo and experienced no malfunctions, but its only pennies cheaper than the Federal 180 gr. at walmart so I will just stick to the Federal for target practice.

Jul 14, 2022 · The 23 Gen 3 was my first Glock pistol - maybe 2005’ish. I’ve installed metrolight sights, OEM “extended” slide stop/release and OEM “extended” magazine catch. Feb 23, 2017 · I use a glock 23 for myself, for self defense. Perfect fit. I'm a LE but want your guys opinions. Currently, I am using the Winchester 180 gr. ranger bonded, for LE ammo. Some one told me to use the 165 gr, for less kick back and better accuracy. I shoot great with the 180.

Dec 9, 2008 · I use a 22 lb recoil spring on my Glock 23. Not one problem with even the lightest loads. IMO, the glock 23 is under sprung with the factory recoil spring. The Glock 23 shares the same factory recoil spring as the glock19 which is a 9mm gun. Basically, Glock made the Glock 23 from a 9mm gun's frame, just the slide and barrel are different.
