FM 1093 serves as the free frontage roads for the Westpark Tollway from the tollway's western terminus to its interchange with FM 1464 in Clodine. Beyond this interchange, FM 1093 continues along Westheimer Road to its terminus at I-610 near The Galleria shopping mall.

TxDOT's Houston District proposes to widen SH 99 from four to six lanes between FM 1093 and I-10 in Fort Bend and Harris Counties. This project is proposed in order to improve mobility and accommodate the growing traffic demand within the project area.

TxDOT and Fort Bend County are developing projects to construct additional main lanes and connect frontage roads on SH 99 between FM 1093 and I-10. In January 2023, the main lane project was let for construction which allowed contractors to bid on the project. Actual construction of the main lane project began May 8, 2023.

The project is needed to improve mobility as FM 723 between Avenue D to FM 1093 is inadequate for both existing and projected growth in the area and does not meet current design standards.

The signal at FM 1093 and Bois D’Arc Lane was activated about two weeks ago, but the new signal at FM 1093 and FM 359 still needs to be activated. Kubena said all project activities should be completed by July 1.

Feb 26, 2021 · Construction on the $55 million Texas Heritage Parkway project connecting FM 1093 to I-10 is underway, according to Andy Meyers, Fort Bend County Precinct 3 commissioner. Meyers said construction from just south of FM 1093 to Kingsland Boulevard is 70% complete and is expected to be finished by the end of July.
