Jun 12, 2020 · Some cymbals sound better patina'd, oxidized, whatever you want to call it, but I've saved some dull sounding cymbals with a good cleaning. As for the logos, BF is slightly abrasive, so best to avoid using much pressure and let the cleaner do its work without scrubbing.

Feb 3, 2012 · Lately, I've had a couple opportunities to try out some lesser-known brands of drums and cymbals -- stuff other than your Yamahas, Ludwigs, Pearls, Zildjians, Sabians, etc., etc., etc. To a certain extent, it has been hit and miss, but by far mostly hit. For instance, I just barely picked up a few Anatolian crashes that I'm in love with.

Aug 28, 2005 · For older cymbals with no logos,or if you dont care about saving the logo,"Bar Keepers Friend" is great, Similar to "Slobeat". Paiste cymbal cleaner works well on clear coated modern cymbals. Groove Juice cut in half works well also.

Oct 10, 2016 · It's not going to remove heavy tarnish/stick marks but the idea is to clean them before stains penetrate deeply. It's all personal preference...some guys like the mellowing effect and look of a well played-in cymbal. My preference is to have the drums in a low register and the cymbals nice and bright, for contrast.

Aug 2, 2017 · They give you a dirty look but sometimes will do it (obviously for smaller cymbals/hats). Otherwise, Home Depot has super cheap boxes for like $3.00 that are big (up to 24") and get yourself a utility knife and make your own.

Nov 14, 2021 · Ive buried cymbals, intentionally wiped excessive sweat on cymbals (gross, I know), used salt water/vinegar solution, and I also left a cymbal on a beach getting hit by salt water and sand for a few days each with varying degrees of results. None of which look as nice as yours or made much of a sonic difference.
