The locomotive type I did my qualifying run on was a c30-7....so I might buy one of these! The livery used matches the one I qualified for engineer on. Don't for the life of me remember the number and I am not going back through 24 timebooks! This one will do fine.

Changes that small are more a matter of settings than hardware, so it certainly wouldn't have been hard make C33-7's if a railroad had ordered them. In fact, in the early 90's, BN kicked up the horsepower on some of their C30-7's to create what were in essence C33-7's, distinguished by their white-on-red numberboards.

To railfans in the 1980's, SD40-2's and C30-7's were the "sanitized display," just as commonplace and boring as the widenosed GE's and EMD's we're tired of today. They yearned for the days of UP's double diesels, B-units, and other oddballs of the 70's.
