Our main purpose is disaster relief efforts such as repairing destroyed ports, maintaining the transportation of shipping containers w/ food, extracting damaged and sunken ships.

    Apr 14, 2023 · This isn't the unicorn MOS that people talk about. While there are a few extremely unique opportunities in this field, just be prepared to be put in a unit where you do very little boat stuff. On a more positive note, those unique opportunities are very cool.

From what I’ve heard is a lot of guys go 88K/88L and leave once they finish their contract, or finish 20 years enlisted as they can go into the civilian market and make significantly more money and deal with none of the Army nonsense with their qualifications.

    Jul 21, 2022 · My prior MOS AIT was in the same company as the 88K back in the day. I didn’t realize how rare it was and used to hate them because it their training was 6 weeks while I was stuck there for 24 weeks.

    Nov 10, 2021 · We were a star mos but it’s been slowing down. It’s common to pick up 5 within your first contract. E7 it’s pretty competitive. Duty stations are Fort Eustis and Hickam Hawaii. The grind depends on the unit leadership. Air assault is normal. In Hawaii jungle school and then the normal bs Army schools. It’s an amazing MOS.
