Feb 14, 2016 · I'm running a 2.56 posi in my '67 GTO convertible with a TH400, 400 engine (original) 068 cam, and 1970 87cc heads (small valve #15 's). This package is powerful enough off the line (It'll lay two stripes of 70 series rubber easily) but really shines when it gets into second gear, which it will hold until 105-107 mph at WOT until the 2-3 shift.

Mar 14, 2024 · Unfortunately I'm old enough to have seen quite a few new stock GTO's run the quarter back in 1967. ET's were always in the 15.2 second range with the 335 horse motor. This was at local tracks in Southern California and not magazine articles. My H.O. 4-speed was a second quicker at 14.15 with original tires and about 600 miles on the odometer.

Feb 9, 2015 · I am restoring a 1967 GTO and have started at upgrading the rear end. I knew it was an open rear. This weekend I looked into the ratio. Couldn't read the stampings so I counted the teeth, 41/15 or 2.73. Referring to Zazarrine's book I noted 2.73 was not a valid ratio for '67.
