Someone explain how Resolution scaling works to me..
Oct 20, 2017 · also important, resolution scale gets applied to x and y axis. thus applying 200% resolution scale to 1080p means the gpu renders the game at 4k internally. 4x more pixels, not 2x more. after the render process the frame gets sampled down to your monitor's resolution. using 200% resolution scale is the same as 4x ssaa aka super sampling anti ...
Resolution 100%, 150%, what does it mean? - Steam Community
What I mean is, 200% resolution scale at 1080p means that you calculate the render resolution as (200% of 1920) by (200% of 1080), which resolves to 3840 by 2160, or 4K. This is confusing because Nvidia DSR uses the total pixel count as the multiplier, so in that case 4X DSR on a 1080p screen results in 3840 by 2160.
Resolution scale vs actual resolution? :: The Surge General …
May 16, 2017 · Can someone explain to me the difference between my game's resolution and the "resolution scale?" I'm playing on a mix of high and medium settings at 3440x1440p, but I'm at 90% resolution scale to keep my game above 60fps pretty much the whole time I'm playing. Is the resolution scale just some type of SSAA? Is it better to have a higher resolution but lower resolution scale? or vice versa?

Mar 14, 2019 · So I lately discovered that Japanese game makers adopted an amazing trend in their games that is sometimes referred to as Resolution Scaling and sometimes as Under Scaling , the trend copies from Anti-aliasing but inversely , so instead of rendering at double+ res then resizing to normal to smooth edges of rendered objects they rather render at ...
Frame generation in FPS games question - Steam Community
Dec 19, 2024 · Hi, I'm on a 3840x2160 monitor using a 1080ti GPU, so far most games work basically prefect when I switch resolution to 2560x1440, but then I have to use upscaling like FSR to make it look better which can have varying results depending on the game. So this question is specifically for Cyberpunk 2077 and my setup: My monitor only supports up to 60FPS, and I'd like to try Frame Generation for a ...

Dec 6, 2024 · This is directed more at the developers in hopes that they can fix whatever is causing this. I really do love this game but I wish this one thing would or could be fixed. If you have a 4k display your resolution scale is most likely going to default to 125% or 150% in windows. This is fine for the most part as most games know how to adjust to this setting but Hell Let Loose does not appear to ...

Or leave the Render Scale at 100% and then apply something like DLSS and then that setting will lower the render scaling resolution based on the quality preset.
It's 2021 and many PC games still don't set resolution ... - ResetEra
Dec 13, 2021 · I know of something else that occurs with display scaling, that being when using a display scale > 100% some older games (or even new games with old APIs) end up producing a window that's far too big for the screen (because Windows doesn't know it's a game and the application is missing a manifest), but that's a rather different symptom.
