Kathy Hochul said she will not remove New York City Mayor Eric Adams, but plans to pursue legislation that will limit his authority as leader of the largest city in the U.S. Hochul is seeking to curb the mayor’s power after the U.

Instead, the governor plans to add a series of controls to the embattled mayor’s power over New York City, a person close to the governor said.

Adams faces allegations he sought to help implement Trump's immigration policies in exchange for having his federal corruption charges dropped.
