UPMC Hamot and Saint Vincent Hospital both reported an increase in slip-and-fall patients this week after temperatures plummeted into the single digits on Monday and below zero Tuesday night.

Dr. David Webner, of Virtua Health, said because of the snow and ice on the ground they're seeing a lot of slip-and-fall injuries and broken bones that are made worse by the hard, frozen ground.
