Key Biscayne gymnastics coach Oscar Olea had been trailed by sex abuse allegations for over 12 years. Weeks after the Miami Herald published an investigation, Olea was arrested.
Oscar Olea, the popular girls’ gymnastics coach charged with six counts of sexual abuse of two of his now-former students, must remain in jail until his trial, a judge ordered Thursday.
After the hearing held on Thursday Feb.29, Olea was held without bond. Originally, Olea's bond was set at $50,000, $25,000 per each charge, according to NBC 6 South Florida.
Oscar Olea, 38, surrendered to authorities and was arrested Wednesday, according to the Key Biscayne Police Department. He was being held on two counts of sexual battery, authorities said.
