The Space Force intends to spend $3.7 billion on two additional MUOS satellites that will launch by the end of 2030, according to the service’s budget request for fiscal year 2023.

MUOS satellites transmit in the ultra-high frequency range between 300 megahertz and 3 gigahertz (1 hertz means a single vibration of the signal per second, so 3 gigahertz is 3 billion per second).
