Charles Powell Jr. died from his injuries while being transported to a hospital following the shooting in the 100 block of Eighth Street in Corydon, Kentucky, KSP stated in a news release Tuesday.

KSP said one deputy fired his weapon, fatally striking the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as Joshua Stanka, 42, of Brownsville, Ky.

According to Trooper Scottie Pennington, KSP received information around 9:30 p.m. about the possible location of a stolen vehicle out of Laurel Co. The vehicle was found near Cumberland Falls.

KSP troopers and investigators responded to the scene along Big Branch Road. The body of Adam Stanley, 48, of Haysi, Virginia, was found in the water, troopers say.
