It took 59 years, but the Houston area finally has a Super Bowl MVP. Jalen Hurts, who starred at Channelview High School on the east side of Harris County, was named Super Bowl MVP after his Philadelphia Eagles thrashed the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 Sunday at New Orleans' Superdome.

As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare to face off against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, all eyes are on star quarterback Jalen Hurts as he returns for a second time to football's biggest stage. Hurts has played for the Eagles since 2020, when the team drafted him in the second round of the NFL draft.
