In an annual tradition, Punxsutawney Phil made that prediction when he saw his shadow during the annual Groundhog Day on Feb. 2 in central Pennsylvania. That means winter will end on March 16.

Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his burrow on Gobbler’s Knob on Sunday to make his annual weather forecast during the 139th Groundhog Day. Phil saw his shadow, forecasting six more weeks of winter.
