Rare Henna Red 145kW E30 BMW 333i sold for record R3.5-million at auction, with 1991 E30 BMW 325iS Evo 1 fetching a cool R1.5-million.

They weren’t all identical. In total, there were 12 E30 M3 models, from the standard 200bhp car in 1986 to 1990’s 230bhp 2.5-litre M3 Evo III. This one is arguably the most special E30 M3 of all.

But that wasn't the only iconic E30 model to fetch over a bar in this most recent auction on Thursday. A pristine 1991 BMW 325i S Evo2 went under the hammer for R1,360,000.
