There is always, locals say, something going on in New Orleans. This weekend, it’s the Super Bowl. For the 11th time, the Big Easy will play host to the Big Game, adding another chapter in a long legacy of on-field drama and off-field debauchery.

Louisiana Culture Festival is a great option for families who want to explore the history of New Orleans. Open Feb. 7 and 8 at the French Market, the festival features several local artists, dancers, regional cuisine, Louisiana crafts and free activities for kids. The festival is open from 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ahead of the Super Bowl in New Orleans, the convention center there has been turned into a football theme park for fans. It's a popular stop. "We have a lot of games, a lot of shopping, a lot of content, something for fans of all ages," NFL Senior Director of Events Nicki Ewell said.
