As Florida approaches a grim milestone in its use of the death penalty, more than 100 faith leaders are calling on Governor Ron DeSantis to pause all executions.

The Florida Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to halt next week’s scheduled execution of Michael Bell in the 1993 murders of two people outside a Jacksonville bar.

Minor, Feddon and Grosmaire handed the letter signed by 100 Christians, including members from all seven Catholic dioceses – DeSantis was raised Catholic – to a receptionist at DeSantis’ office.
