In a new 'Elle' cover story interview, Lady Gaga opened up about how the music industry has changed for pop stars since her first album came out in 2008.
Gaga starred as Lee Quinzel (aka Harley Quinn) opposite Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck (aka Joker) in Todd Phillips’ 2024 film, a sequel to the 2019 original, which was nominated for 11 Oscars and won two. The sequel, in sharp contrast, was dragged through the mud on Rotten Tomatoes, earning a measly 31% score.
The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved,” she said about the upcoming project.
“People just sometimes don’t like some things,” Gaga said in her first public comments about reactions to the film, although she did not mention it by name. “It’s that simple. And I think to be an artist, you have to be willing for people to sometimes not like it. And you keep going, even if something didn’t connect in the way that you intended.”
Lady Gaga said she and her fiancé Michael Polansky have spoken about kids and starting a family in a cover interview with 'Elle' published Tuesday, Jan. 28
The Joaquin Phoenix-led film was dubbed one of the "worst" movies of 2024: "You have to be willing for people to sometimes not like it."
A journalist’s daughter was perhaps not pleased their mother was interviewing Gaga instead of taking them to a toy store.
Lady Gaga discussed her new album, her potential future parenting strategy and reviews for "Joker: Folie à Deux" in a wide-ranging interview.
After releasing a “Joker 2” companion album, titled “Harlequin,” last fall, Gaga announced on Monday that her next album, “Mayhem,” will release on March 7.
Joker: Folie À Deux was one of 2024’s most notable movies, but not for good reasons. The Joaquin Phoenix- and Lady Gaga-starring movie wasn’t received well commercially or critically, but Gaga doesn’t seem to be letting it bother her too much.
Lady Gaga has finally spoken about Joker: Folie à Deux being a box office flop and shared her thoughts on failure. The pop star turned actor is used to success, becoming the first woman in history to win an Academy Award, Grammy Award, BAFTA Award and Golden Globe Award in one single year back in 2019.
