Anna Wypych left no doubt about why she walked away with the prized Miss Basketball award in downtown Detroit earlier this week.

Rockford plays Wayne Memorial in a Division 1 girls basketball semifinal at the Breslin Center in East Lansing on March 21, 2025. Rockford, which appeared in the semifinals for the fourth straight year, will make its second trip to the state finals in the last three years. The Rams won the program’s lone state title in 2023.

Rockford point guard and recently crowned Michigan Miss Basketball winner Anna Wypych scored 30 points, swiped four steals, dished three assists, turned the ball over once and missed just two shots in the Rams’ 61-42 win over Wayne Memorial in Friday’s Division 1 state semifinal at the Breslin Center.
