President Cyril Ramaphosa defended South Africa's land policy on Monday after Donald Trump's threat to cut off funding because of what he said were land confiscations.

President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa said that his country had not seized land. Ownership of land in the country has been a contentious issue for generations.

Trump made the pledge to stop all future funding on his Truth Social platform on Sunday, writing: “South Africa is confiscating land, and treating certain classes of people VERY BADLY.”
