Special Olympics Georgia is getting a boost thanks to hundreds of people who took a polar plunge in their honor on Saturday.

There were plenty of squeals and laughs Saturday morning at Cauble Park in Acworth where about 300 law enforcement officers from across metro Atlanta took part in a polar plunge.

Racers are gearing up to participate in this weekend's Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic as it takes over downtown Tampa.

The shooting occurred after the two men were at the Exxon Gas Station where they exchanged gunfire with one another, detectives learned on scene.
