The third film of the Paddington franchise, "Paddington in Peru," falls disappointingly short of the charm expected from the lovable bear.

While nowhere near as brilliant as its prior installment, “Paddington 2,” this third entry in the franchise still has enough charm to recommend it.

It was the rare movie that could get a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, after the first two Paddington movies, King and co-writer Simon Farnaby then left the Brown family behind to tackle the wonder that was Wonka.

In this tumultuous and troubling 2025, Paddington—the cheery and polite British bear in the red bucket hat and blue duffle coat—is the hero we need. In Paddington in Peru, he continues to be a wonderfully amusing and charming beacon of light.

Part of Paddington’s charm is that he always sees the best in people – and helps them see the best in themselves, too.
