The shattered father of the teen girl fatally mauled by a shark at Bribie Island has bravely urged people to “keep coming and enjoying our beach” despite his daughter’s tragic death.

Charlize Zmuda was swimming at Woorim Beach at Bribie Island when she was injured. Emergency services were called to the unpatrolled beach just before 5pm on Monday, but she could not be saved.

The drum lines running along Woorim Beach, which sits on the ocean side of Bribie Island, were baited in recent days. Queensland Premier David Crisafulli said the incident was “incredibly sad”.
