Josh James Brolin (/ˈbroʊlɪn/; born February 12, 1968) is an American actor. A son of actor James Brolin, he gained fame in his youth for his role in the adventure film The Goonies (1985).

After the wide success of the movie, Brolin was approached for the role of Tom Hanson in the TV show 21 Jump Street, though he turned down the role for the less successful series, Private Eye.
