At CES 2023, TCL launched its 40 series phones. The TCL 40 SE is the phone most likely to come to the US, with a low price and budget specs. Specific pricing and availability wasn’t available.

TCL unveiled a trio of affordable phones for the European and Asian markets at CES earlier this year, the TCL 40 SE, the 408 and the 403. All three are 4G-only models that focus on keeping costs low.

The 40 X 5G and the 40 XL getting side-mounted fingerprint scanners and face unlock for authentication. The 4G-only TCL 40 XL also gets dual speakers, which is certainly welcome on a $149 phone.

They showed us their 40 Series smartphones, including TCL 40 R 5G, TCL 40 SE, and TCL 408. And they unveiled the new upgraded NXTPAPER technology in their TCL NXTPAPER 12 Pro tablet.

TCL 40SE comes in grey and purple colors and will debut in Europe later this quarter for the equivalent of $169. TCL 408 TCL 408 is a slightly cheaper alternative to the 40 SE coming in at $129.
