To protect religion in Kaliyug, Lord Vishnu's 10th incarnation Kalki will be born. The prophecy related to Lord Kalki is mentioned in Skanda Purana, Matsya Purana and Kalki Purana.

In our Shastras it is mentioned that there are four yugas- Satyug, Tretayug, Dwaparyug and Kaliyug. After Kaliyug there is a period known as pralaya, after which Satyug again starts.

The present time or era is called The Kalyug (black era). For me. it is the supreme of all the eras, i.e. Satyug,Tretayugand and Dwaparyug.
