Neighbors in one Southeast DC community in fear for their safety, after they say their homes are being hit by bullets night after night.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Evidence from a bullet was recovered after shots were fired from a moped in broad daylight on Tuesday in Stapleton, according to police.

A bullet that went through a wall, then a privacy fence and ended up in a neighbor's wall lead police to a felon in Asheville, according to police.

A 31-year-old man was shot in the stomach in Queens, police said — and two of the bullets that were fired pierced a fence around a yard where children play, according to a neighbor.
