STATE COLLEGE | No. 1 Penn State once again asserted its dominion over college wrestling, head-locking No. 2 Iowa 30-8 at the Bryce Jordan Center on Friday in a match that cemented the Nittany Lions atop the sport's hierarchy. Penn State wrestling won eight of 10 bouts, losing one with a missing starter, and dominated some of Iowa's top wrestlers.

But the plus this weekend for wrestling fans is that they get to watch top-ranked Penn State perform twice. The Nittany Lions entertain No. 14 Michigan (5-4/2-4) at 6 p.m. Friday on BTN and host No. 24 Maryland (8-7/3-2) at 1 p.m. Sunday at Rec Hall.

The indomitable Tyler Kasak from Doylestown, Pa. took it upon himself here Friday night to not just conquer his match but symbolize this latest runaway, marquee victory − a 30-8 final count for the No. 1 Nittany Lions over what's billed as the second-best team around, the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Cael Sanderson’s top-ranked wrestling team made quick work of No. 2 Iowa last Friday night in State College, winning 30-8 before a sellout crowd. Obviously, PSU remains No. 1 in the updated InterMat team rankings.
