Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has reaveled that his side have been dealt a huge injury blow after Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu suffered setbacks against West Ham.

Chelsea striker Marc Guiu will be sidelined for weeks after picking up an injury during Monday's 2-1 Premier League win over West Ham United, coach Enzo Maresca said on Friday.

Maresca, meanwhile, revealed Marc Guiu suffered a long-term injury in Chelsea’s 2-1 Premier League win over West Ham on Monday. The 19-year-old striker, who came on for Nicolas Jackson at Stamford Bridge, hobbled off at full-time after Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s own goal helped the Blues come from behind to seal three points.

Following loan stints at his former team Vasco da Gama and Nottingham Forest, he was shipped out to Strasbourg in February 2024. The 20-year-old extended his loan spell with the French outfit, which is part of the same BlueCo ownership group as Chelsea, until the end of this season.

The Blues didn't sign a striker or forward in January despite the exits of Joao Felix and possible drug ban for Mykhailo Mudryk.
