Annabel Sutherland and Travis Head are named Australia's top cricketers at an awards night missing the country's best men's cricket players.

Travis Head became the first South Australian to win the Allan Border Medal on Monday night. But it also marked the first time in its 25-year history that the winner of the prestigious medal wasn't at the Australian Cricket Awards in person to receive it from Border.

It’s cricket’s equivalent of the Dally M Awards or Brownlow Medal night, but for the first time in history, none of Australia’s men’s Test stars will be present when the Allan Border Medal winner is announced on Monday night.
