Some speed increases are more of an incremental boost that may be hard to notice, but it’s a free perk that could give your next streaming marathon a slight edge.

Comcast, the parent company that owns Xfinity, says its fiber-based network handles internet needs for a whopping 64 million homes and businesses, along with another 23 million Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots. The company claims that it has built "the nation's largest converged wireless and wireline network" over the past decade.

Comcast has upgraded Xfinity Internet speeds for more than 20 million customers at no additional cost. Xfinity Internet tiers, including NOW branded prepaid products, now feature 50 to 100 percent faster upload speeds, making it easier to upload large files and post videos quickly. Most tiers will also experience increased download speeds.
