Throughout most of the 1970s, HP sandwiched its logo between the words "Hewlett" and "Packard." It also featured an IBM-like series of horizontal blue lines above the "hp" circle.
As reported in The Verge, the logo–depicted above–actually debuted in 2011. It’s the work of the global creative company Moving Brands, whom HP had hired to develop a new brand identity.
For nearly 30 years, HP's logo was a circle within a rectangle. Hewlett-Packard got rid of the rectangle in 2010.
