LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Several longtime surfwear/skating retailers are planning to close up shop in the United States after their operator, Liberated Brands, filed for bankruptcy on Sunday.

Quiksilver, Billabong and Volcom are closing all 124 stores across the United States, including 35 in California. The shutdown affects roughly 1,400 employees, according to bankruptcy filings.
