The middleweight belt is on the line at this weekend's UFC 312 bout which will be headlined by Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis. It is the South African, Du Plessis who currently holds the middleweight title and will face Strickland for the second time.

After his controversial loss to Du Plessis, Strickland got back in the win column and maintained his status as a divisional title contender by defeating former title challenger Paulo Costa five months later by unanimous decision at UFC 302. He is 4-2 in his last six fights and is close to reaching the top of several striking records.

The fighters competing on Saturday's UFC 312 fight card in Sydney, Australia participated in the event's ceremonial weigh-in on Friday.
