Cut the USB cable or cables you wish to splice at the designed length using a wire cutter. Cut a 1-inch section of the plastic sheathing from the end of each wire segment using a razor blade.

I have a wireless logitech trackball that I use on my Dell laptop, that i absolutly love. The reciever plugs into my usb port which is fine but it has this nasty 4 foot cord on it. needless to say ...
