Georgia snow: Mountains to see up to 1 inch of snow, others a wintry mix or rain
ATLANTA — Parts of North Georgia are going to see another round of snow early Wednesday morning. Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz said the mountains will mainly see the snow, but other areas will see a wintry mix. Nitz said the highest elevations of Georgia could see up to an inch of snow.

Carmen Hernandez with the National Weather Service in Peachtree City said while the system moving across much of the eastern part of the country will primarily bring rain to Northeast Georgia, some of the northernmost counties in the state could see some snowfall Wednesday morning.
Snow moving into far North Georgia; chilly rain in metro Atlanta
A winter weather advisory is in place in far North Georgia until 1 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Such advisories are issued when snow, ice, sleet or a combination of all three are expected but conditions should not be hazardous enough to meet warning criteria.

As of the mid-morning the snow has yet to materialize much farther south in north Georgia — areas like Dalton and Ellijay did not get much of it. But in the further north elevations, there were large flakes early in the morning and decent accumulations that stuck to the ground.
