Saritha Ramaraju, 48, was charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of her 11-year-old son, Yatin Ramaraju, on Wednesday, March 19, at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Santa Ana, Calif.

Around 9:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Saritha Ramaraju, 48, called 911 and admitted to stabbing her son inside of their room, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

Orange County Dist. Atty. Todd Spitzer said Friday that his office is charging 48-year-old mother Saritha Ramaraju in the killing of her 11-year-old son.
