Cristiano Ronaldo has chosen to sign a new contract with Al-Nassr and will not play at the Club World Cup this summer, according to reports. The 40-year-old has just finished his third season in the Saudi Pro League and ended up as the division’s top scorer for the second campaign in a row.

Ronaldo's apparent departure from the Saudi Pro League does have potentially imminent consequences on another major soccer tournament: the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. According to a MARCA report from earlier this month, an unnamed Brazilian club has already given Ronaldo an offer to play for their team during the Club World Cup starting in mid-June.
