After a 4-0 loss to the New York Rangers on Monday night, the New York Islanders knew they needed to bounce back. They responded in a big way in front of their fans at UBS Arena, beating the top team in the NHL in the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 on Tuesday night in the second half of a back-to-back set.

Had the New York Islanders played as they did on Tuesday night at UBS Arena against the NHL-best Winnipeg Jets, perhaps they would not be staring down the possibility of saying goodbye to some long-time contributors.
