Kamio, who cut his teeth in Tokyo sushi apprenticeships after growing up in Sendai, became a San Francisco name in 2001. That’s when he was helming Ozumo, a position he held from 2000 to 2005.

Pabu will choose between two delicious bamboo stalks, sprinkled with fruit treats. The stalk that is chewed on first will be this year’s projected Super Bowl winner.

The award-winning chef whose restaurant group manages more than 40 restaurants is bringing Pabu (stylized PABU) to the ground-floor of the JW Marriott hotel at 201 8th Ave. S. this fall.
