There's a program called ASFRecorder that might work for getting to your HD. I don't know how to convert it afterwards though.

Because poppy, forgive me if I'm wrong, you cannot open ASF files with DirectShowSource in AVISynth. Or at least that is what the documentation says, maybe it's just hideously out of date.
