The statue, which was carefully crafted to capture Nyx’s likeness, will be permanently displayed in the lobby of the Rockford Police Department’s District 3 building.

The statue will be life-sized and made out of bronze. K9 Nyx was shot in 2024 in the 2900 block of 11th Street while she and her human partner were tracking down a domestic violence suspect.
