MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man was rescued from the Merced River after jumping off a bridge for fun. The Merced County Sheriff's Office says a fisherman reported an injured man in the water.

On July 5, around 10:20 p.m., deputies responded to the Merced River after receiving a report of boaters taking on water or being flooded upriver from the McConnell State Recreation Area in Ballico.
