A felony trial and dissmissal hearing for a central Iowa meat locker has been delayed for a second time.

Felony charges against Zanker and the meat locker were brought forward on Jan. 24, and Zanker pleaded not guilty to both. A jury trial has been scheduled for June 17 in Hamilton County.

Meat lockers aren't all the same, but they share a butcher's ethos in bridging a gap for the customer. Mangigian said he just wants to "facilitate that relationship" between farmers and consumers.

Butchers competing Tuesday will slice more than 1,000 pounds of meat, with each competitor receiving about 30-40 pounds of beef. Participants will be judged on quality, yield and speed of cuts.
