Mazda will unveil an updated Mazda 6 at this month’s 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, and among the updates made to the car is the fitment of a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-4.

It’s a family car -- there aren’t Nurburgring lap times to talk about; in fact lateral limits are quite low (not impressed with the Falken tires Mazda chose), but the 6 still engages the driver.

Every Mazda 6 comes standard with a 7.0-inch color touchscreen unit that features a USB port, auxiliary input jack, voice-control capability, and Bluetooth.

But bullshit aside, Mazda has done it. The 6 is that rare beast, a car that looks like it drives and drives like it looks: taut, agile, and, yes, athletic.

The 2018 Mazda 6 is prettier than ever, and its top-trim interior is downright elegant. It also finally has the thing we’ve been craving from this sporty midsize sedan for years now—more power.
