RED HOOK, N.Y. — Cristian Merino’s goal proved to be the game’s only goal as the Red Hook boys soccer team defeated visiting Marlboro 1-0 in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League game on Monday.

The loss was Red Hook’s first of the season. And like Marlboro, the Raiders are aiming to improve on different facets of their game heading into their homecoming on Oct. 1 against Goshen.
