Lotus just formally announced that its electric hypercar will be revealed on July 16. It's called the Type 130, and it's confirmed for production at Lotus headquarters in Hethel, Norfolk.

There's not much info yet on the Type 130, the details and specifications for which will be fully revealed later this year in London.

Lotus said it will follow in the footsteps of other famous "Type" cars like the Type 78 and Type 88, respectively the world's first ground effect and carbon fiber F1 cars.
