Some centers are now using a robot-assisted walking therapy system, called Lokomat®. The Lokomat consists of a motorized treadmill, special harness, robotic frame, straps and a computer.

Only about 10 Lokomat orthotic robots, made by Hocoma AG in Volketswill, are in use in the United States. Lo is apparently the only researcher using one of the $250,000 devices to rehab MS patients.
