U ntil recently, hardly anyone in the motorsport world knew who Niels Koolen is. The AIX Racing driver has been active in Formula 2 for two weeks and he has made a name for himself.

After beginning his formula racing career just two seasons ago, Niels Koolen will continue to build his resume this upcoming season in the 2024 INDY NXT by Firestone championship with HMD Motorsports.

Koolen marched from a ninth-place start in the No. 10 Chip Ganassi Racing entry to finish a career-best sixth in the 35-lap race Saturday, May 10, the second event of the doubleheader weekend.
