The Kia PV5 battery-electric van will ride on the company’s Platform Beyond Vehicle strategy.Kia says the PV5 will be available in cargo and passenger versions and will be joined by further additions to the range.

In terms of design, the passenger PV5 features a single lift-up tailgate door, while the cargo version opts for conventional split rear doors and lacks the extra windows found on the passenger model. Kia has also promised unprecedented flexibility and customization for its PBVs, with some models even offered in cab-chassis form.

The midsize PV5 is one of several flexible electric vans designed for various commercial applications that Kia calls its Platform Beyond Vehicles (PBV). They were previewed by concepts at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), and much of the styling of those concepts seems to have carried over to the production PV5 variants.
